Why r all teh doorz so big?
Yep, this is yet another EQII ‘questing’ blog. No real reason for it other than I wanted to try it out, see what the fuss is and see how long I can keep it going for this time. Expect to find the usual descriptions of quests completed, hazards faced, derring-do’s er… done, and the by-now standard musings on all things EQII-related.
I mainly play as my dwarven monk, but have about two dozen alts running around various different servers. None are particularly high level, but that’s quite typical for me. Ah lurves me the low-level game.
This novelty condom is giving me splinters

Hi there. Sorry to ask here but I didn’t see any contact information on the site (either that or I got up way too early today and my eyes are still bleary).
I was wondering what your computer specs are? I find your screenshots quite amazing and just wanted to know at the very least what graphics card you have and how much RAM you pack. *grins* It’s probably time to upgrade mine.

Well I have two basic setups for running EQII – one at work, one from home (all the widescreen shots are from the home PC). One runs XP on a 2.2GHz, AMD 3700 PC with 1.5Gb RAM and a GeForce 7900GTX. The other is a Vista PC with 2Gb RAM, a dual-core something or other (can’t remember the processor speed but it’s an Intel) and an ATi 1650SE card with 1Gb of video RAM I think it was).
The trick for good looking screenshots is to whack everything in the game up to maximum detail, run it at a stupid high screen resolution, turn off the UI with F10 and either swing the camera around if you want to be in the shot, or go into first-person mode to get interesting shots of others or scenery. Then hammer the PrintScreen key and cross your fingers at least one of them turns out any good. And not worry about dying from passing mobs.

Hey, I’ve been thinking about playing EQII and you make it seem so fun so I have a question. How fun is it?

Well, I’m biased of course
but personally I think it has the most enjoyable gameplay of any of the existing-generation fantasy MMOs, plus it seems the most relaxed and friendly in terms of community which helps.
I haven’t played WAR or Conan yet though, but I can’t see myself switching over any time soon.

Sounds great then. Maybe I’ll go out and get it.
P.S. Age of Conan is a good game too but i’d say the community is somewhat ignoring most of the time. If you do get it though, don’t play on a PvP server, People just camp by exits and kill.
